FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a Matterport 3D Modelling?

A Matterport 3D Model is a complete three-dimensional representation of a space, which lets you “walk” through the space to experience it as if you were there.

Are you shooting in Bulgaria Only?

No, we can provide our service to any of our customers if they agree to pay extra transportation fee

How is a Matterport 3D virtual tour different from a traditional virtual tour?

A traditional virtual tour isn’t really a tour, but rather a video or gallery of panoramic photos. Most of traditional tours don’t allow the viewer to move around within the space. Some traditional tours can offer around 4- 10 individual locations to view the space. Photographers use DSLR cameras to capture multiple photos that are then stitched together to form a panoramic image which is then viewed using special online plugins.

When we use the Matterport 3D camera, it allows the viewer to explore the space in up to 200 locations that are seamlessly stitched together. They can look up, look down, turn around, walk around items and see the space from multiple angles of their choosing. Professional Matterport 3D camera enables us to provide you a completely virtual walk through.

How long does it take to create a tour?

It takes about 1 hour per 100 square meters. If there are additional obstructions like people, mirrors, stairs slowing the scanning process, this time will likely be increased.

How is 3D VR tour created?

Our 3D camera is placed in multiple positions throughout the space. In each position, a camera body housing 3 cameras and 6 sensors/projectors then rotates with its built-in motor to gather data in 360 degrees. The data is then uploaded into the cloud for processing, and when completed, we send you some links. This link can then be embedded directly into a website, shared on social media (instagram, facebook, etc…) or just emailed directly to your client.

What do I need to do before the appointment?

Please have the space cleaned and de-cluttered before your appointment. It should be staged and in “open-house’ condition. The camera will see everything and it cannot be taken out later.

Can my family or agent be present during the shoot?

People, pets, small children and other potentially moving persons or objects should be removed from the interior of the area to be scanned or placed in a separate closed off room. The family or a representative may be present during filming, but they must remain out of view of the camera and any windows and mirrors.

Do you shoot every room?

Yes, we can shoot all interior spaces with the exception of small closets where the tripod cannot fit (such as a linen closet or pantry). The doors to all rooms to be scanned must be open when we begin. If you have any private materials (such as photographs) that you do not wish to be seen in the tour, please ensure they are removed prior shooting. Once shooting has been completed, these items cannot be digitally removed.

How fast do you deliver?

Your Matterport 3D tour will usually be available within 48 hours

How do I embed a Matterport Virtual Tour into a website?

Embedding a model is very straightforward: it’s similar to embedding a YouTube video. We will provide you with the code to cut and paste. You can also use a standard html link on websites, in emails and anywhere else web links are used.

Which browsers, tablets and smartphones are compatible?

The Matterport 3D Showcases use WebGL, the modern standard for 3D content on the web. On desktop computers, WebGL is supported by the latest version of Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer. On mobile devices, WebGL is supported by most browsers. Apple devices also have the ability to download the matterport showcase application, where you can view your scan offline.

Can I import a Matterport 3D Model into CAD software?

Yes. We can provide you with an industry-standard OBJ file, which will contain both the 3D mesh and textures. This data can be converted to use with Autocad, 3ds max, Revit, Archicad etc.

How long is my Tour available?

Matterport 3D Virtual Tours require an enormous amount of data which is stored in the cloud on the camera maker’s servers. The first 6/12 months of hosting are included.

Can you scan my backyard, garden, pool or outdoor concert venue?

The Matterport 3D Camera is designed for indoor use as sunlight interferes with data collection sensors. You will be able to see through windows in our traditional service and view parts of the backyard or patio areas, but you may not be able to “walk through” them. We can however scan outside provided the sun is almost ready to set, or the weather conditions are favorable.

Why do I see a small blur when panning down?

As a viewer walks through the finished 3-D model, they may see a very small blurred area in the middle of the scan if they pan all the way down to the bottom. The blur is created by the camera to block the legs of the tripod from view. There is a similar blurred patch directly above the camera where it cannot see.

Why do some areas on my model have “black holes” when I am looking at the dollhouse or floor plan view?

Some areas may show as “black areas” on the final dollhouse or floor plan view (but not in the walk through view). This is normal, as these are areas the scanner cannot see and a human cannot see when walking through (such as inside a column, behind a chair in the corner or inside a small closet). Small non walk-in closets and very small storage spaces, pantries, residential garages and attics are not typically included in the scans.
